Dr. Atty. Finner-Williams is the founder and chief executive officer of the Detroit-based Finner-Williams and Associates Psychological Services, Inc. created in 1979, and the legal professional association of Paris M. Finner-Williams, Esq., P.C., created in 1991. She was born and raised in Detroit and holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Detroit, a master of education degree in educational psychology from Wayne State University, a doctor of philosophy degree in psychological counseling from the University of Michigan, and a juris doctorate degree from the Detroit College of Law. A popular guest on radio and television, she addresses male-female relationships and motivational issues. She is an author of numerous publications and articles and often serves as a quoted relationship expert in popular magazines; such as Ebony and Jet. Her counseling and legal services include these issues as well as forensic psychology, rehabilitation, divorce law, family law and probate matters. An advocate of church-based Christian counseling, she is a founder and the first chairperson of the Black African-American Christian Counselors Division of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Dr. Atty. Finner-Williams provides free monthly training services to local Christian Counselors through the Finner-Williams Christian Counseling Ministry, Inc. Non-Profit Corporation, that she serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Atty. Paris Michele Finner-Williams worked a combined twenty-three years for local, county, and state governments as a Mental Health Department administrator. She provides consultation and training to both public and private agencies and organizations in the areas of group dynamics, forensic psychology, client assessment, and mental health treatment. She is a member in or officer of numerous professional organizations and has received local and national recognition for her contributions and leadership in the mental health field. Dr. Atty. Finner-Williams has volunteered time as the legal consultant for the International Association of Black Psychologists, Inc. since 1989 and she has been the recipient of their Service Award for consecutive years. Her husband, Robert D. Williams, is a clinical psychiatric social worker, addiction counselor, forensic counselor, and licensed marriage and family therapist. They work together in their private practice to preserve families and couples and help individuals. They are the co-authors of Marital Secrets: Dating, Lies, Communication and Sex (2001) and Single Wisdom (2004), which are available through their own publishing company, RP Publishing. They are members of Holy Hope Heritage Church—Baptist in Detroit, Michigan.
